MooCheck

Email support@nightferrylabs.com and we'll get back to you, usually within a couple of days. If a result was wrong, a photo of the label helps a lot.

Questions

How does MooCheck decide?

For a barcode, it looks up the product's ingredients in Open Food Facts. For a photo, it reads the label on your iPhone. It then checks the ingredients for milk and milk-derived ingredients. Tricky cases get a second look from AI, which explains what it found.

Can I use it for a milk allergy?

No. MooCheck is for dietary preferences, like avoiding dairy because of lactose intolerance. Results can be wrong, so it isn't safe for allergies. Always read the label.

What does "May contain milk" mean?

The label has no milk ingredients but warns that the food may have touched milk, for example "made on shared equipment with milk". In Settings, you choose whether those products count as OK for you.

A result looks wrong. What should I do?

Trust the package label, and please tell us: email a photo of the ingredient list and what MooCheck said. If a barcode's ingredients are out of date, you can also fix them on Open Food Facts.

What are AI checks, and what happens when I run out?

An AI check is one label checked by AI. You get 100 a month, or 25 during the free week. If you run out, barcode scans and the on-phone check keep working, and the AI checks come back at the start of the next month.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → MooCheck. You can also tap Manage subscription in MooCheck's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or period ends to avoid the next charge.

I got a new phone. How do I get my subscription back?

Sign in with the same Apple account and open MooCheck. If it doesn't unlock, tap Restore purchases in Settings.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds go through Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

What happens to my photos?

Your history stays on your iPhone. Photos are only sent when a label needs an AI check, and they aren't stored on our server. See the privacy policy for details.
